In an emergency, what is the first material possession that you would grab? Would it be your tv? Your xbox? Your wii? How about your pictures and videos? I know, for me, I would grab my hard drive that has all of our family pictures and video's on it. All 4 hard drives. lol. Even the thought of losing all of our pictures and video's makes me sick to my stomach. There are so many memories attached to those!
When I started doing family video's a few years ago, it was all for fun. I was just playing around with my camera, trying to figure out how to work the video function on our DSLR. Now skip forward to 2012...wow.... back then I never realized the treasure that those video's would become! I love pictures, I love taking and looking at pictures. I have a million of them. But there is something about video that I love even more. Maybe its the ability to SEE and HEAR everything that was captured. The way you are able to see how wobbly your little 1 year old was as he/she was just starting to learn how to walk and run. How their little voices sounded at that time.....the cute way that they try to say certain words. Its the giggles, the smiles, the batting eyelashes that you can SEE ALL OVER AGAIN!! Oh just melt my heart!!
So a few months ago we got an email from Angela and it said, "Hello,
I just saw the video you did for some friends of mine (the Cannon family) and loved it! What a beautiful keepsake to have of your family! Which makes me think we need to do this for our own family...." We were so excited that someone wrote us that was as excited about family video's as we are! So we discussed what she was looking for, what we can do...and we got the ball rolling. After we finished the video and Eran delivered it to her, he got a phone call 20 or so mins. later from Angela. She was in tears as she expressed to Eran how much she loved her video! Not too long after the phone call, we got this email...."To say that I love this video would be putting it mildly!!! I know i could hardly speak when i called to thank you, I was just so overcome with emotion! You guys are gifted and fabulous at what you do and I will treasure this snapshot of this time in our lives forever ;) thank you for giving this to us! I can guarantee we'll be contacting you guys again :) Thanks so much!!"
And THAT is why we LOVE doing what we do!! We love being able to create something that will be cherished for years. Something that will become a family heirloom. Something that they will want to grab in an emergency.
A sweet phone call and email from Angela was by FAR the best pay day...EVER!! That simple thank you was of way more value to us than any amount of money we got from doing her video.
We were able to see Angela again at her cousin's wedding this past Saturday (pictures and video coming soon!) It was actually my first time meeting her, and she is the sweetest, kindest person on this planet!
So without further ado...I would like to introduce Angela and her gorgeous family!
